 Sounds of Summer concerts

The Sounds of Summer Concert Series is FREE and open to the public. Enjoy music and entertainment at Arlington Heights Park (3429 W Pierce St.), Wednesday evenings in July during the summer months from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  In 2014, Artists Working in Education will be bringing their truck studio to the concerts from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to provide free and fun art activities for kids.  There is something for everyone! Feel free to bring your grill, picnic basket, blanket or chairs. Before or after the music, you can also dine at any of Silver City’s wonderful international restaurants.  Make sure to check back for updates to the 2014 Line Up.  Additional sponsorships available! If you would like to get involved or are interested in sponsorships, contact natanael@lbwn.org.

6:30 pm ¡Ay Cosita!!-¡Ay Cosita!! comes from the tradición fandanguera of southern Veracruz, Mexico humbly playing the rhythms and melodies of traditional Son Jarocho. Son Jarocho being much more than a musical genre, encompasses toda una cultura of traditions and rituals of afro-indigenous-iberian roots. ¡Ay Cosita!! member, José Luis Utrera Pérez comes from a long line of traditional musicians, versadores, dancers, and luthiers, that have preserved and disseminated the tradition for over four generations.

Location: National Avenue between S 31st Street and S 39th Street
Trick-or-Treat, Spray on Tattoos, Free Kiddie Train Rides
and Feely Boxes 

Ghouls and boys take over National Avenue between 31st & 39th for one scary afternoon of Trick-or-Treating. This event includes a costume contest, Canadian Pacific Kiddie Rail, and other family friendly activities. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
